Girl Scout Troop 1226 of the 4th grade Wilson school West Caldwell participated in the "Empty Bowl" project by creating handmade ceramic bowls with help from Elizabeth Smith Jacobs of the clay studio in Montclair.

In exchange for a cash donation, guests were asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

The money raised was donated to the local Caldwell Food Pantry, working to end hunger and food insecurity.

The girls also donated a collection of canned foods, paper towles and other items the shelter needed.

Congratulations to these young girl scouts who stepped up to do this vital community service.
