The Art Garage in Montclair is having an artist’s reception for photographer Sherri Zuckerman’s show A Retro-Spective on Friday night January 25th from 6-9pm.

Sherri Zuckerman’s photographs are influenced by a childhood spent imagining her own future as based on the ‘adult’ life portrayed in mid 20th century television and the highly saturated Kodachrome family images from the same period. Much of Sherri’s earliest works are a result of her love for seeking out and combining objects, patterns, and textures specific to the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Sherri’s love for film noir cinematography directly influences her use of camera angles and shadows. Sherri Zuckerman earned a BFA in graphic design from the State University of New York at Purchase, and a MFA in photography from the California Institute of the Arts. She spent nine years living in Los Angeles where she taught photography at various colleges and continued to show her work locally and nationally. Show runs a few weeks into February. The Art Garage is located at 211 Glenridge Ave. Montclair. 973-744-6484. www.ArtGarageNJ.com.
