Yesterday, I met a very passionate man who reminded me why gin is so delicious. No, readers, we were NOT in a bathtub! (If you don't get this, you are just too young.)

Greenhook Ginsmith is a small batch gin-maker out of Brooklyn, and was on display at the always ahead-of-the-curve Fairchilds Market in Roseland.
This is the kind of spot you can go to for breakfast, lunch or dinner and ALWAYS have an amazing food experience.
Their eclectic country farm tables are nestled among the many one-of-a-kind and handcrafted gifts, and there is also an incredible array of artisanal wines and liquors.
Believe me, this place will be your favorite go-to hide out once you discover it.
When I went in for lunch yesterday, the young bearded man standing happily at the card table was standing behind his beloved Greenhook Gins.
Now, I have always been a gin-and-tonic summer type of gal. But something about these three cool looking bottles of gin intrigued me.
There were 3 flavors: the traditional dry Gin, the Beach Plum Gin (made from local plums, including those from Cape May) and the Old Tom Gin.
Brothers Steven and Phillip DeAngelo are the brainchild behind this incredible brand, and it may been noon but my curiosity got the best of me: I had a small cup of the Beach Plum Gin, cut with some natural lemon mixer.
Wow! This is a gin that is not only memorable but so smooth I thought I should grab a chair and work for the company! It was beyond delicious.
The taste was not overpowering, and instead, just 100 percent fresh tasting, light and yet with a noticeable, subtle kick. Even the aroma coming off of the bottle was delicious!

This is a rare find: a family run gin-distiller that REALLY is made in small, handcrafted batches - unlike all those other fake brands pretending to be "artisanal".
