Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. (right) joined with the Essex County Master Gardeners in the Essex County
Brookdale Park Rose Garden on Saturday, June 16th to dedicate a statue in
honor of the late Bob Kroeckle. Kroeckle, a long-time member of the Master
Gardeners, was a volunteer member of the team that refurbished the Rose
Garden in time for its 50th anniversary in 2009. A plaque on the statue
describes Kroeckle as "a kind friend and teacher" and "tireless Master
Gardener." Unveiling the statue with the County Executive are (from left)
Kroeckle's brother-in-law Mike Maroukis, niece Marcella Boyd, sister Judy
Maroukis, daughter-in-law Mary Kroeckle, Essex County Environmental Center
Director Tara Casella and Kroeckle's wife, Fran. Fran Kroeckle is a resident
of Montclair.
