If you’re reading this, I already know: you are very busy, just like I am. But being busy is no excuse for skipping out on your well being. As the hours whiz by every day, and most of us rush to and fro working or tending to our families, the question begs to be asked: How do we keep track of what we are eating, how much we exercise and how do we create and maintain a balanced life?
VIDA (CLICK HERE to upload App) is a new, very cool, hi-tech, low stress APP, free for a few weeks (so hurry), that you can use to work with your very own personal health coach.

From the moment you sign in, you will be lead to your very own personalized mission: to live a more healthful life. First of all, you must answer a few questions and choose your mission.
Do you want to lose weight? Detox from junk food and sugar? Feel better? Improve Energy? Get Fit? Work on strength and mobility? Do you have a chronic illnes? These are just some of the boxes you can tap on, to set up your first meeting with your very own coach.
This is no boring, cookie-cutter type of tough love coach, either. You can actually choose the personality of the coach that most fits your style. For me, it was the “Challenger”, since I know I respond well to a challenge.

Once you choose a coach, a real-life list of coaches pops up - and you can choose the one that best fits your needs, since their specialities are offered under their photo.
Once you sign up with your favorite coach, you register and voila - the health coaching begins!
I have to admit, this is a lot of fun. I tend to run around like a maniac, and I do watch what I eat and exercise frequently but I also tend to do too much, too fast, so I could use the help of a coach. No matter how hard I try, I do tend to need a tune-up every year.
Once I entered the system, I received a very brief upbeat hello from my new coach, Morgan. So I was off and running - or at least, typing!
First up: Morgan asked me all kinds of questions, about my health goals, and my habits and diet. She was wonderful, and sent me a few very easy-to follow, and printable, menus for me to follow to achieve my goals.
We messaged one another via the built-in VIDA system within their APP, and by the end of our conversation, I was hooked.
Now, I have 3 incredible menus filled with many choices for me to follow, and I am going to check in once a day.

As I take this journey with my coach, I can already say I am very excited to see what I can learn from a fresh and experienced health coach.
“Preventive health is the greatest public health problem of our generation—133 million people in the U.S. have chronic conditions, constituting 7 of the top 10 causes of death,” said Vida co-founder and CEO Stephanie Tilenius. “Vida combines technology and a human touch to help individuals manage one or, in many cases, multiple conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity and cancer, with a uniquely scalable model. The app provides 24/7, personalized guidance from real-life experts who draw upon protocols developed in partnership with leading medical institutions.”
Vida draws upon a nationwide network of professional health coaches and uses algorithms to
pair a coach with each individual. Besides working on weight loss or exercise Vida connects people with the expertise they need to tackle health issues at their convenience and at a lower cost than existing solutions.  Vida also uses wearable device integration and Apple’s HealthKit to suggest the optimal care approach for each person, and gives 24/7 access to personal health coaches.
If you want to try this out free, they have offered to let you do so if you sign on before the end of January. Once this free trial period ends, the service costs $15 per week - well worth it and of course, much less expensive than a local health coach!
So hop to it - and let’s compare notes!
Updates to follow.
