MEANINGFUL LIVING IN MODERN TIMES

Posted

Rabbi Amy Joy Small created Deborah's Palm Center for Jewish Learning & Experiences to help Jews and fellow seekers access the riches of Jewish tradition for meaningful spiritual living.

Two brand new programs will begin in January 2015—Meaningful Living in Modern Times, a discussion group open to all that will meet on a regular basis in Florham Park, and Moving Beyond Racism with Jewish Values as our Guide, a Social Justice Call, a relevant one-time program developed in coordination with Montclair community leader Jane Susswein.

Rabbi Amy’s passionate goal is to respond to the tremendous need for guidance and spirituality expressed by community members. The Rabbi has designed Deborah’s Palm offerings to include diverse Jewish experiences for adults through classes, study groups and cultural programs throughout Northern New Jersey. Programs address the questions we face in our everyday lives by exploring the Jewish ideas, texts and practices that convey Judaism’s rich wisdom.

Deborah’s Palm reaches out to all (NJJN article)—including Jews and non-Jews, those who are affiliated with synagogues and those who are not. The groups and classes are for all who are yearning for spiritual nourishment and connection. They offer an opportunity for learning through the prism of Jewish wisdom in new and accessible ways.

The Meaningful Living in Modern Times group will explore soulful meaning from our life stories and wisdom from Jewish sages. It will offer participants a path to transformative spiritual experience by discerning meaning in the challenges of the everyday.

The inaugural meeting of Meaningful Living in Modern Times will take place on Tuesday January 13, 2015 at 7 pm at The Florham Park Diner, 182 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park.
