James Caldwell High School Forensics Team Makes Honorable Debut

For Immediate Release

January 16, 2015 – On Wednesday, December 17, six students from James Caldwell High School (JCHS), West Caldwell, competed against more than 400 students from throughout New Jersey in the Newark Catholic League forensics tournament at Ridge High School, Basking Ridge, N.J., with sophomore Lydia Wielgus earning a spot in the final round. This is the West Caldwell school’s debut in the forensics competitions after students worked to establish the group a little over a year ago.

Representing the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District were senior Regina Peters, junior Hannah Rothsten, and sophomores Isabella Bellomo, Kassie Sarkar and Wielgus.

Advised by Gifted Academic Program teacher and advisor to the successful Grover Cleveland Middle School forensics team Claudia Douris, the team will compete again on January 17 at Union Catholic Regional High School in Scotch Plains, N.J.
