ESSEX COUNTY EXECUTIVE DIVINCENZO INVITES THE PUBLIC TO ENJOY THE ESSEX COUNTY FREE SUMMERMUSIC CONCERT SERIES

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to visit the Essex County Park System and enjoy the 2015 Essex County Free SummerMusic Concert Series. Upcoming events include performances by Jersey Sound, Bradford Hayes and MJ Invincible, a Michael Jackson tribute.

“Our Free Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage in venues throughout our historic Essex County Park System. Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more. We have an outstanding line-up that is sure to entertain and impress,” DiVincenzo said.

Jersey Sound

Jersey Sound is one of the Tri State area's premier oldies band, known for its versatility and talented members. The band puts its own spin on the music industry by giving the audience a combination of music genres creating delectable sounds the ear can only imagine. They offer an eclectic blend of classic Oldies, Classic Rock, Motown, R&B, British Invasion and Pop. With the very best vocalists and a killer rhythm section holding it all together, The "Jersey Sound" experience is one you will never forget. Jersey Sound will perform as follows:

Bradford Hayes

Bradford Hayes has been a force on the jazz scene in northeastern United States for several years. In addition to leading his own band and performing with The Spirit of Life Ensemble, Hayes spent 15 years with Babatunde Olatunki’s Drums of Passion Band and served as musical director for three years. A highlight of his career was performing with Mr. Olatunki at Yankee Stadium during Nelson Mandela’s historical trip to the United States after his release from prison. Hayes has been music educator in the Newark Public Schools for 25 years. Bradford Hayes will perform as follows:

MJ Invincible: A Michael Jackson Tribute

MJ Invincible features some of the most amazing and authentic Michael Jackson impersonators. The show is produced and directed by Darrin Ross, who has created a one-of-a-kind theatrical spectacular tribute show. Ross has been producing and engineering songs since 1984 with Jam On Productions and was chosen to be a cultural ambassador for the United States representing Dance Motion USA tours to Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine in 2013. He also completed the score and sound design for Alvin Ailey American Dance theater's Beyond The Steps PBS Documentary and for their ballets “Love Stories and Reminiscin” along with sound design and composition for Suzan Lori Parks TopDog/Underdog. MJ Invincible will perform as follows:

The SummerMusic Concert Series is being sponsored by Rose Squared Productions, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey and TD Bank. The series is also made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
