A massive all-out invasion by Russia including tanks, bombs, and gunfire is now happening in Ukraine. As the already weary world looks on, this new violent assault is being watched in real-time,  with international leaders standing together to protest the violence. Russia is also hitting Ukraine with cyber attacks, including false information and other hostile cyber breaches.

A few minutes ago, Russia took over the Chernobyl Site, following a statement ty Russian President Putin that Russia "is a powerful nuclear state." Chernobyl was the infamous site that had a nuclear disaster in 1986.

The Kyiv Independent Newspaper just wrote that Ukraine’s commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhniy says Russia’s “blitzkrieg has failed” due to Ukraine’s defenders. He vowed that Russian forces would be “awash with blood.” The newspaper also reports the Russians are striking hospitals.

Ukraine's  Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said,  “This is a direct violation of the Geneva Convention by Russian troops! Our hospitals and emergency medical teams are on full alert, working in all regions, and will provide care in all circumstances."

“This is a direct violation of the Geneva Convention by Russian troops! Our hospitals and emergency medical teams are on full alert, working in all regions and will provide care in all circumstances,” he added.

“Putin chose this war, and now he and his country will bear the consequences,” said President Biden.

President Biden, in his live conference now, said sanctioning Putin personally is "on the table."

Sanctions imposed by the US and two-thirds of the world are against Russian banks, oligarchs, and other wealthy individuals.

Germany announced the most powerful sanction that will hurt Russia greatly: the certification of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which Putin is determined to acquire, is now on pause.

Sanctions, though effective, take months to make their mark and certainly do not stop an invasion.

In the midst of the Russian invasion, Former President Donald Trump commented, praising Russia,  and making fun of Biden.

Referring to Putin's leading the invasion of the independent country Ukraine, Trump said, “I mean he’s taking over a country for $2 worth of sanctions. I’d say that’s pretty smart.”

As the world watches, the population of Ukraine is under siege, and reports of fatalities starting to come in.

Biden said he sees a clear and chilling pattern to Putin's invasion.

Putin “has much larger ambitions than Ukraine. He wants to, in fact, re-establish the former Soviet Union. That is what this is about," said President Biden.
