Tragedy Grows as Park Slope Mom loses baby after death of toddler in car-hit

The tragic and horrifying car crash in Park Slope in March that took the lives of 2 young children now has another victim. The unborn baby of mom Ruthie Ann Miles died from injuries from the crash, according to Miles' lawyer.

Miles, a Tony Award Winning actress, was 30-weeks into her pregnancy when the shocking event, where a woman driver killed 2 very young children ages 4 and 20 months, as they walked with their parents in a crosswalk in Park Slope.

Lawyer Ben Rubinowitz said this death of the unborn baby is the result of the same car-hit tragedy on March 5.

"Ruthie and her husband Jonathan lost their baby," said Rubinowitz in a statement. "The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is nearly impossible to fathom."

The driver of the car, Dorothy Burns, has been charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and assault and reckless driving. Her jail time may be up to 15 years, though this tragedy will last a lifetime for the grieving parents of both young children.
