The Garden Club of the Caldwells will present a slide-lecture titled “The Story of Chocolate and Migrating Birds” featuring Stephanie Punnett, Program Director from New Jersey Audubon Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary in Bernardsville on Thursday, April 19 at 1:00 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

The program will cover the cultural history, growth and production of chocolate and discuss the health benefits from dark chocolate. Punnett will also discuss which migrating birds, including the American Redstart, spend the winter in tropical forests whose canopy shades the small cacao trees that produce chocolate. This program will be one hour in length and will be followed by a business meeting of the Garden Club of the Caldwells and a reception.

This slide-lecture is free and open to the public and registration is not required. For more information, call the Library at 973-226-5441.
