In honor of Halloween, historian Myrna Nahas will present a slide-lecture titled "The Salem Witch Trials" on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:30 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

The infamous Salem Witch Trials began during the spring of 1692, when a group of young girls in Salem Village, MA, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. A wave of hysteria spread through colonial Massachusetts.

This program explores the events and circumstances that led to the fears, hysteria, and persecution of so many people in the late 17th century Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Registration for this free program is required. To sign-up, call the Library at 973-226-5441 or sign-up online @ https://bccls.libcal.com/event/5714429.
