Award-winning actress Ellen Barry will present a lecture/ performance titled “The Infinite Variety of Shakespeare’s Women” on Thursday, May 24 at 6:30 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.
Ms. Barry will discuss and perform a wide range of the Bard’s female characters, from ingénues to leading ladies to character women and finally crones. She will also share memories of her own experiences portraying the woebegone Helena in "A Midsummer Night’s Dream", the saint-like Hermione in "The Winter’s Tale," and the comic schemer Maria in "Twelfth Night," among others.
