A staged reading of the 1938 radio play "The War of the Worlds" will be presented on Sunday, June 30 at 2:00 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

On Halloween in 1938, Orson Welles and the Mercury Theater broadcast a radio dramatization based on H.G Wells famous novel "The War of the Worlds" about the fictional attack on earth by Martians. This broadcast created a U. S. panic, because people believed the Martian attack was true.

A re-enactment of this thrilling radio play will be performed by Broadway actors David & Britt Cryer, CBS meteorologist John Elliott, Equity actress Thea White and local poet Michael Mandzik.

Come hear this suspenseful radio play complete with sound effects. Registration is required and you can sign-up by calling 973-226-5441 or online @ https://bccls.libcal.com/event/5389389.
