Mountainside Medical Center will participate in the American Dental Association’s “Give Kids a Smile” program on Friday, February 1, providing free dental care by appointment from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children 12 years old and younger.

“Our dentists and other dental team members are among more than 40,000 nationwide who are joining forces for an event that’s dedicated to reaching children who might otherwise be underserved due to financial constraints,” said Mary Voytus, D.D.S., director of Mountainside Medical Center’s Division of Dentistry. “Studies have shown childhood dental care can significantly impact a youngster’s overall physical and emotional well-being, as well as set the stage for a lifetime of good dental hygiene, so we’re happy to donate our professional services to treat local boys and girls.”

“The recommended starting age for dental visits is around the first birthday or within six months of when a baby’s first tooth comes in,” Dr. Voytus said. “At Mountainside Medical Center, we’re equipped to treat these young patients and educate parents about dental hygiene.”

The Dental Clinic is located on the hospital campus at One Bay Avenue, Montclair, 3rd Floor. Advance appointments are required. For further information and scheduling, please call (973) 429-6888.
