In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, Jim Shelley, a docent at Bethel Woods (site of the original Woodstock), will present a slide-lecture titled "Remembering Woodstock" on Tuesday, August 20 at 6:30 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

One of the 500,000 people that attended Woodstock in 1969, Shelley will share his experiences about this pivotal moment in popular music history celebrating three days of peace, music and love. He will discuss some of the 32 acts performed by such musicians as Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Santana the Grateful Dead, Sha Na Na and many others. He will also share pictures of the musicians, the audience referred to as the "counterculture generation," and the general overall scene.
