Posted

Parents looking for a safe and vibrant summer camp or conservatory that offers fun theatre arts classes--everything from beginner to advanced--need look no further than Maplewood’s renowned Performers Theatre Workshop (PTW). Combining the expert training of a conservatory with the fun of a summer camp, the performing arts experience at PTW is second to none for individualized and stellar classes taught by highly experienced teachers.

Students will enjoy learning in a holistic style that embraces the whole child, in an environment that is welcoming, caring and supportive. But the mainstay of this warm program is centered on the expert professional staff, comprised of many Broadway, TV and Film veterans, highly-credentialed and ready to take your child to their next level. Classes run for 3 weeks, and are offered in two 3-week sessions.

This summer, PTW is once again offering programs with a plan designed for each age group. There are 4 age groups, divided by age and level, and parents can sign their child up for the Broadway Conservatory or Young Performers Camp. Programs include:

- Broadway Showcase and Conservatory, June 26 - July 14, divisions for ages 9–12 & 13-18
- Broadway Conservatory & Broadway Shows, July 24 – Aug. 11, divisions for ages 9-12 & 13-18
- Young Performers Camp! June 26 - July 14 and July 24 - August 11, divisions for ages 4-6 & 7-8

Classes offered are very diverse and include:

Voice, Acting, Ballet/Modern, Jazz/Hip Hop, Tap, Song Interpretation, Audition Technique, Comedy and Improv, On-Camera Acting and Musical Theatre.

Every student gets to shine in a featured number on-stage, and at the end of each session, will perform in front of family and friends. The Junior Camp kids get to wow the audience at St. George's Church in Maplewood.  Senior Camp Conservatory students will have the opportunity to perform at the end of Session 1 for agents, managers, friends and family at the legendary NYC cabaret venue "Don't Tell Mama," just a couple blocks from some of the most prestigious Broadway theatres in NYC.

Session 1 Conservatory students will also perform at Maplewoodstock, the renowned Maplewood music festival with an audience of over a thousand, as the opening act on Saturday, July 8.

PTW is offering a fantastic opportunity during Session 2, which features in-depth workshops with current Broadway performers and also field trips to see TWO Broadway Shows!

PTW has been New Jersey’s premiere family-owned performing arts school for children since 1983, with a passionate group of teachers, trained in theatre and other areas of the performing arts. Your children will be safe and feel a deep bond with their teachers and other kids in the program.

PTW is located at 1 Pierson Road in Maplewood, New Jersey.
