Commissioner Steven Rogers and the Department of Public Affairs are honored to announce a date for the long overdue award ceremony for Nutley Resident Anne Rotonda. Ms. Rotonda was awarded the Department of Public Affairs Women’s Advocacy Award in 2017 for her outstanding work with the Special Young Adults Organization, in addition to years of community support and outreach. Unfortunately, due to serious health issues, Anne was unable to personally receive the award. We are happy to report that Anne is on the road to recovery after a bone marrow transplant in the fall of 2017.

Anne has been the Director of The Special Young Adults Organization for over 37years. She has dedicated her entire life to the well-being of countless special young adults who would otherwise have nowhere to turn. She not only provides them with somewhere to go, and daily activities, but she showers them in the love and support they deserve. She is completely and unconditionally loved by every young adult that comes though her doors, as well as by everyone that has had the undeniable privilege of meeting or working with her.

All are cordially invited to attend the award ceremony which will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Nutley Public Affairs Building located at 149 Chestnut Street. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, and to RSVP, please call the Nutley Health Department at 97.3-284-4976.
