Be sure to visit the Nutley Farmer's Market this summer.

Week #1 - Sunday, June 17, 2018

We couldn't be more excited about our 9th season of the Nutley Farmers Market featuring delicious local food, live music, special events, and our weekly walk-and-learn group.

The 2018 Market runs every Sunday 9am-2pm through October 28 in our NEW downtown location in Municipal Lot 9 (former Ciccolini Brothers lot at 537 Franklin Avenue). Parking is available in Lot 7 (behind Bella Luce) and Lot 9 (enter through Lot 7) as well as on the street. Of course, biking and walking to the Market are also great options!

Shop weekly with Asprocolas Acres, Empanada Lady, Gourmet Nuts & Dried Fruit, Hoboken Farms, The Juice Pushers, Pallotta Hot Sauce, Pickles Olives Etc., Tea Thyme Sweet & Savory, and Treelicioius Orchards.

Enjoy special appearances throughout the season from Buon Antipasto, Cheese Between, Estrog, Pure Potential Power Juice, and Rooted Pear.

We'll keep you posted on the schedule in this weekly email as well as on our social media, so please follow Nutley Farmers Market on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The 2018 season sees the return of the popular Market Walk & Talk series to help Market patrons get fit AND informed each week. Meet at the Market at 8:15am for a scenic 3-mile loop that steps off at 8:30am. Market Walk & Talk kicks off this week with me, Mayor Joseph Scarpelli, and our Mayor for the Day, Yantacaw student Bradley Higgins as your walk leaders. Looking forward to your questions! See you there or RSVP on Meetup.

While you shop this week, enjoy musical entertainment from Market favorite The Almost Original Synthetic Swampgrass Jug-Band.com.

Stop by to chat with the Nutley Public Library and learn about all of the wonderful services they provide our community and special events they host, not to mention an excellent collection of materials and access to many more through the inter-library loan system BCCLS. We love our library!

Once again this season, we welcome your donations of non-perishables such as hot and cold cereals, nut butters, and jelly for the Nutley Family Service Bureau Food Pantry, and every other week, your donations of fresh produce (Jun 17, Jul 1, Jul 15, Jul 29, Aug 12, Aug 26, Sep 9, Sep 23, Oct 7, Oct 21).

Further supporting access to healthy foods for all through a grant from New Jersey Healthy Communities Network funded by Partners for Health Foundation, our EBT Machine gives eligible patrons (SNAP, WIC, SFMNP) more opportunity to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and packaged foods.

We will be doubling SFMNP vouchers so our eligible seniors will receive an additional $25! Qualifying seniors may sign up for SFMNP on Friday, June 15 10am-2pm at Cedar Grove Park, Robert O'Toole Community Center, 199 Fairview Avenue, Cedar Grove. For more information about eligibility requirements, call the Nutley Health Department at 973-284-4976. If you need transportation to Cedar Grove sign-up, please call before noon on Monday, June 11.
