The West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road, will participate in the 4th Annual NJ Makers Day on Saturday, March 10 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This event is sponsored by the generous support of the Rotary Club of the Caldwells, the New Jersey State Library, and PSE&G Foundation.

NJ Makers Day is designed to be a statewide event that celebrates, promotes, and introduces maker culture as well as the values associated with making, tinkering and STEM-based learning.

From 10 am to 3 pm, patrons of all ages are welcome to play with our Ozobots, Snap Circuits, Makey Makey Invention Kits, Strawbees Engineering Fun, and Little Bits Electronic Building Blocks. There will also be a FIRST Robot Demo from 10 am -12 pm and a Hand Quilting Demo from 1 pm to 2 pm. Other activities include learning to Finger Knit from 1 pm to 2 pm, making your own buttons or magnets, a LEGO Build Drop-in at 11 am, and Tie Dying a T-shirt for teens at 2:00 pm, which requires registration. The nutritionist from Shop Rite of West Caldwell will also demonstrate how to make-your-own trail mix bar with whole grains and fruits.
