1,000 plus new cases of Covid-19 have hit N.J. in a trifecta of hard-hit days.

As of today, there are 13 new deaths along with 1,036 NEW Covid-19 cases reported in the Garden State. There are over 700 hospitalized patients reported today with another wave expected to follow this week as more residents are getting sick.

N.J. Governor Phil Murphy took to Twitter, a la Trump, to report the upswing in cases today. 

The major reason for the surge in N.J. cases of the Cornoavirus is reported to be the change of weather. With cooler temperatures here, more people are staying indoors.

Restaurants, now open to limited capacity, are most likely about to see their new indoor options on the cutting block as the worriesome numbers of Covid-19 grow.

N.J.  Commissioner of Health Judith Persichilli said the Covid-19 surge began in September.

"This trend began about a month ago," she noted. "Until September 15th, our cases were in the high 300s each day, then they climbed to 500 to 600 daily. Now daily reports of cases have doubled since last month and we are now up on as high as 1,000 a day. This trend is similar to what the nation is experiencing, but we have seen hotspots in Ocean County and at our universities. Overall, we are seeing more widespread cases throughout the state due to community spread and not any single event or reopening step."
