New Hot Spot The Kitch in Little Falls Is A Gem

A husband and wife team with a passion for delicious food have taken a Little Falls restaurant and transformed it into a foodie haven. The Kitch is an Italian bistro with a very cool dining room and extensive menu but also offers a very casual side with Pizza and other foods as well. This is a perfect double-whammy for a dynamic duo that has the cooking chops to pull off a destination Bistro with very affordable prices in their charming B.Y.O.B. spot - which has parking. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner, a meal with friends, a table for a large crew or a loud dinner/snack with your feisty toddlers in their large “counter menu” room, there is a place for you in this family friendly restaurant.

Deana and Joseph Swanson are thrilled to serve hungry patrons in their thriving restaurant, which was filled to capacity last weekend. Though every seat was taken, however, the vibe was both relaxing and professional, and this top notch staff never missed a beat. From our incredible appetizers to the main course to the spectacular ending, it was a delight.

When you visit, be sure to leave your options open for some specials. Their menu overall is quite special, with appetizers like Mozzarella En Carozza and Tuscan Fries, or Garlic Bread Fondue (yes, really!) so you can’t go wrong. Their menu entrees include classics like Gnocchi Bolognese and many pasta favorites, as well as chicken, fresh seafood and classics like Steak & Fries but the specials are out of this world and should not be missed.

One appetizer special that was truly the only time I have ever seen it on any menu was the Broccoli Rabe Oreganato. Wow. This was just the perfect combination of fresh tender Rabe with that perfectly seasoned oregano/garlic bit of light crunch we all know and love. I told them to put it on their regular menu - it was that fantastic! My daughter, who is young enough to eat whatever she likes every day, also had the Rice Ball, and this was very lightly breaded and filled with a luscious rice filling.

My dinner was a Veal Chop pounded thin and lightly pan fried in a tasty breading, with a fresh arugula salad nestled perfectly on top. This is not an easy dish to pull off, no matter how simple it sounds. The Kitch did it admirably, with the veal crunchy yet not really fried, and the veal so tender I did not need a knife. The salad was obviously tossed moments before they served me, and was crispy and fresh - making this dish a total knockout.

I’ve lived in the area long enough to know there are always good places to eat, but not usually great spots. This is a great one. They take reservations, deliver (though I highly recommend eating in the restaurant) and since they are such a family-centric couple, have that handy casual dining side with pizza and other foods for anyone with small kids or in a hurry.
