18 Year Old Girl attacked near Park St. and Watchung Ave

On April 21, 2019 at approximately 1522 hours, Montclair Police responded to the area of Park Street and Watchung Avenue on a report of an attempted abduction. The victim, an 18-year- old Montclair

female reported that while walking north on Park Street a vehicle pulled along-side her and a male exited. The male suspect reportedly approached the victim, grabbed her, and attempted to force her toward the vehicle. The victim stated that she resisted the male, eventually freeing herself and ran home. The victim suffered minor scrapes to her neck and arms.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years of age, medium build, 5'5" to 5'9" in height, brown hair, brown eyes, and a brown mustache. The male was wearing a beige short sleeve t-shirt. The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years of age, heavyset, with a "full beard" and a round face. The vehicle was described as green or gray in color, 4 door, older model crossover, possibly 2000's, bearing a "white" license plate on the rear.
