John Huibregtse, the Director of the Town of Ramapo Challenger Learning Center, will discuss the basic life support requirements for spaceflight, and what we now know are the effects on the human body of both short- and long-term spaceflight. This is a family friendly event with the presentation targeted to middle and high school students.

The Challenger Learning Center provides an interactive learning experience that engages children and adults and allows them to perform the same "hands-on" tasks that are done by real scientists, engineers, researchers, and astronauts.

Before becoming a Challenger Learning Center Director John worked as a resident tutor for the “A Better Chance”, * and as a computer programmer for IBM, AT&T and Bell Labs. John enjoys traveling the world chasing solar eclipses but wishes he were an astronaut.

All meetings of the Montclair Society of Engineers are free and open to the public.
