Theft

July 23, 2019 (Bloomfield Avenue): An unidentified male entered the CVS on Bloomfield Avenue, removed 12 pairs of “Zipper” headphones, and fled without paying. The suspect is described as an African-American male, bald head and medium build, wearing a dark, or navy blue colored shirt with lettering on the front and back, gray pants and black shoes.

July 23, 2019 (Valley Road): An unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle and removed the owner’s handicapped placard.

July 24, 2019 (Bellaire Drive): A 2013 Volkswagon Jetta was stolen from the driveway of a Bellaire Drive residence during the overnight hours. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle was recovered, parked and unoccupied in East Orange on July 28, 2019

July 24, 2019 (Central Avenue): An unlocked vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. Missing at this time is cash, an ATM card, and sunglasses.

July 26, 2019 (Glenridge Avenue): Two patrons of The Crosby racked up a bill for over $200.00 and left the restaurant without paying. Suspect one is described as a shorter white male with glasses and a beard wearing a blue hat with an "NFL Patriots" logo, a red and blue striped polo shirt, and jeans. Suspect two is described as a tall, heavy set Hispanic male with black hair wearing a white short sleeve button down shirt, a white watch, blue shorts, and gray sneakers.

July 27, 2019 (Grove Street): Two vehicles left unlocked were entered during the overnight hours. The victims reported cash missing.

July 28, 2019 (Valley Road): Patrol responded to CVS Pharmacy on Valley Road for a shoplifting. Management reported observing an unknown male placing numerous pieces of merchandise in his shirt and fleeing the store. The suspect was described as a bald Hispanic male approximately 5'5" in height wearing a N.Y. Yankee baseball jersey, white shorts, and black sneakers.

July 28, 2019 (Greenwood Avenue): The resident reports two packages that had been delivered to her home were stolen. The packages contained miscellaneous clothing items.

Arrests

July 24, 2019 (Bloomfield Avenue): Management at Merit Fine Wine and Liquors flagged an officer down and reported that a shoplifting just occurred. Officers located Mr. Michael Brown (61 year old male, Jersey City) who was placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting.

July 30, 2019 (Park Street): Mr. Van Ray (46 year old, Montclair) was placed under arrest for open warrants out of Orange and the Essex County Sheriffs Department.
