Montclair Police Department - Blotter 04-16-2019

Arrest:

04-13-2019 (Walnut Street) Ms. Catrina Perkins, 27yoa from Paterson, was arrested on an open warrant out of Newark.

04-14-2019 (Glenridge Avenue) Mr. Omar Soriano, 31yoa from Newark, was arrested and charged with Hindering, Resisting, and Trespassing after being observed attempting to damage a vehicle. He fled the scene on foot, resulting in a short foot pursuit. He was also found to have an open warrant out of Union City.

Burglary/Theft:

04-10-2019 (North Mountain Avenue) Theft of a delivered package from the front porch of a home. The suspect is described as an African-American male, wearing a red sweatshirt and brown pants. The packages contained clothing items and golf balls.

04-10-2019 (Elm Street) Burglary to a residence. Numerous rooms in the home were rummaged through. Cash and wristwatch were taken in this incident.

04-12-2019 (North Fullerton Avenue) Theft of a license plate off of a parked vehicle.

04-12-2019 (Cambridge Road) Theft of a delivered package from the front of a home. The package in question contained small electronics.

04-15-2019 (Draper Terrace) Theft of a bicycle from a residential garage.

04-15-2019 (Maple Avenue) Theft of a wallet and GPS Unit from an unlocked motor vehicle.

Robbery:

04-12-2019 (Lackawanna Plaza) A food deliver driver (65yoa male from Wayne) returned to his vehicle to discover a side window broken and a suspect rummaging through his vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle and punched the victim in the face. The suspect then struck the victim numerous times in the head with a rock. This suspect is described as a light skinned African-American male, 40's, approximately 5'6 in height with a very thin build, wearing a black hat, black jacket, black pants, black shoes, and possibly had a blue gym bag type backpack. The victim’s wallet was taken from his pocket during this assault. The victim sustained lacerations to the head and was transported to Mountainside Hospital for treatment.

Vandalism:

04-14-2019 (Nicolo’s Bakery, Baldwin Street) An unknown person knocked over a large planter in front of the store and then threw a brick through the glass front door. This incident occurred after business hours when the store was closed.
