Arrest:

09/13/17 (Maple Avenue) Montclair Police received a BOLO from Bloomfield Police regarding a vehicle that had fled on their officers for motor vehicle offenses. Montclair officers located the suspect, Chase Carter (27yoa from Montclair) in the fleeing vehicle. Mr. Carter exited his vehicle and confronted the officers, shoving one of them. These two officers attempted to arrest and handcuff Mr. Carter, to which he resisted. Additional officers responded and were then successful in handcuffing this individual. During the arrest, one of the officers sustained a hand injury. Bloomfield Police issued motor vehicle summonses based on the initial event. Montclair Police charged Mr. Carter with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.

09-13-2017 (Bloomfield Avenue) Ms. Kaiyah Taylor, 33yoa from Newark, was arrested in open warrants out of Watchung and Newark.

09-16-2017 (Nishuane Park) Mr. Keith Matheis, 64yoa from Montclair, was arrested on an open Montclair warrant.

09-16-2017 (Elm Street) Mr. Michael Emanuel, 24yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Burglary and Theft for multiple thefts from motor vehicles in the Elm Street area.

09-17-2017 (Harrison Avenue) Mr. Jorge Ortiz, 29yoa from Bronx NY, was arrested and charged with DWI.

09-17-2017 (Elmwood Avenue) Mr. Joseph Jenkins, 20yoa from Montclair, was arrested on an open Montclair warrant.

09-17-2017 (Bloomfield Avenue) Mr. Daniel Ramer, 49yoa from Maplewood, was arrested and charged with DWI.

09-18-2017 (Elm Street) Mr. Dwight Peebles (20yoa from Newark) and Mr. Jaguer Charles (22yoa from Newark) were arrested and charged with Obstruction, Possession of Burglar Tools, and Possession of CDS after being observed trespassing in the rear yard of a private residence.

Burglary/Theft:

09-12-2017 (Cocina Candela, Bloomfield Avenue) Burglary to a commercial establishment. Cash was stolen in this incident.

09-14-2017 (Hawthorne Place) A ladder was taken from an unlocked garage and placed under a bedroom window of the residence. Entry was not gained to the home.

09-17-2017 (Lincoln Street) Theft of loose change from a motor vehicle. No sign of forced entry.
