Students at Montclair High School are hosting a sit-in today and honoring every victim of Columbine. It’s the 20th anniversary of the tragic and shocking school massacre that is still impacting students today.

In the hallways, the students are reading aloud the names of the murdered children, who would have been in their thirties today if that had not been slain.

Student Will Novac spearheaded the protest and spread the word and is a member of the SDA club of Montclair.

“Nothing has changed despite protests,” he noted. “It’s Not enough! We’re here to revitalize the movement to work on laws. We are Protesting that nothing has been done

Kudos to the incredible students at MHS.”

Other students agreed.

“I love the cause, but I didn’t know that the students organized. I saw them gathered in the hallway and I wanted to join them.” - Bella

After chanting all of the names for Columbine shooting and Virginia Tech, there was a moment of silence to respect all of the victims

“I think it shines light on each individual person that lost their lives to gun violence. It gives the movement a depth because the victims were people just like us too. It makes it more personal.” - Will

“Gun violence is way too large of a problem in our country. — Estella

Kudos to the students at Montclair High School, who are persistent, strong voices for change - and tomorrow’s voters!
