Montclair Center BID Announces Spring Events for 2019

The Montclair Center BID announced a full schedule of events for 2019, activating and energizing downtown with music, family activities and shopping specials.

“Our events have become a highlight of the Montclair calendar,” said Jason Gleason, board president of the Montclair Center BID. “We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to what’s going on downtown.”

“It’s going to be another exciting year in downtown Montclair,” said Jennifer Brown, Montclair Center BID executive director. “In addition to our renowned Center Stage music presentations every Saturday night on Church Street throughout the summer we have a full schedule of dynamic programs, showcasing all that Montclair Center has to offer.”

Other events will be announced throughout the year.

Mar. 5-10

Women’s Empowerment Week

Montclair Center BID businesses will be presenting free talks and workshops throughout the week.

Thursday, May 2

Spring Art Walk

Emerging and established artists will be presenting sculpture, prints, paintings and more throughout Montclair Center businesses. Presented in partnership with Studio Montclair and the Montclair Art Museum.

Saturday, May 4 (raindate Sunday, May 5)

Montclair Center Stage Music Festival

Downtown will rock (and roll) with a day-long celebration of Montclair’s music traditions.

Friday, May 17

Ladies’ Night Out

Shop and sip throughout downtown boutiques for specials and fun activities.

Saturday, June 8

Kidchella

A day of family fun including music, hands-on activities, crafts and more.

Saturday, June 22

Sidewalk Sale

Shop the specials throughout downtown. A special edition of Montclair Center Stage will showcase the sounds of Montclair Make Music Day (which will take place Friday, June 21).

South Park Street Farmer’s Market

Shop local and organic produce from local farmers.

Saturday, Sept. 21

Family Fest/Octoberfest

This highly anticipated event includes a fun schedule of events for children at Crane Park and food, music and craft beers on Lackawanna Plaza.

Fall Art Walk

Tree Lighting

Presented with the Township of Montclair, enjoy winter festivities—ice carving, carolers, Santa and more—along Church Street.

Representing the over 400 businesses and over 200 property owners in downtown Montclair, the Montclair Center BID is directly responsible for the music performances, beautification projects including plants and decorations, banners, way-finding signage and maintenance throughout the district. By encouraging dynamic collaboration, the Montclair Center BID also creates exciting events for shoppers and tourists, marketing opportunities for retailers and restaurateurs, and actively seeks to improve the area for businesses and residents.
