The holiday season is fraught with requests for donations from hard-working non-profits. Truly, 'tis the season to give.
One national advertising agency owned by two women have created a fantastic new way to give back to an anti-domestic non-profit organization: through their holiday cards.
Terri Meyer and Sandy Greenberg are not just friends and partners, but are also the only women owned and run creative agency in New York and North America: The Terri & Sandy Solution.
Turns out these two women powerhouses are also something else: visionaries with big hearts.
When asked how they chose the Joyful Heart Foundation, the answer was fast to come.
"We chose the Joyful Heart Foundation because they are a powerful voice in the community," noted Meyer. "The foundation's mission is to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, and to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues. They have spent the last 10 years actively pursing these goals, which align with our own."
Like most Americans, these two female business owners feel a connection to the anti-domestic violence movement.
Meyer said, "Like the rest of the country, we were emotionally effected by statistics revealing that 1 in 4 women have experienced rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetimes (Center for Disease Control). This holiday we wanted to take a stance. We felt contributing to the Joyful Heart Foundation would allow us to assist in the foundation's mission while also spreading awareness to our partners and friends."
For every card sent, this dynamic duo is donating to the foundation.
Kudos to this wonderful team, for trying to bring a "solution" to domestic violence.
Statistics of Domestic Violence in America
