On 07/23/2015 at approximately 10:45 pm, Montclair Police Officers responded to the intersection of Cedar Ave & High St, on a report of a female screaming. Preliminary investigation indicated that the 41 year old Newark resident was assaulted with an unknown cutting weapon inside Nishuane Park. During the assault, the female sustained severe lacerations to her back and neck. She was subsequently transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
On 09/18/2015, Mr. Anthony Johnson, 37yoa from Belleville, was arrested by Montclair Detectives for this assault. He was charged with Aggravated Assault and Weapons Offenses. Bail was set at $300,000.
