MEET THE DEEP DIG
This band of smooth ruffians is the side-project of veteran NYC musicians who put a velvet, funky touch on an eclectic stable of tunes from the modern American songbook.
The diverse quartet features Ray Levier on drums, Scott E. Moore on vocals, acoustic & electric guitar, Hank Skalka on bass and Rich Tozzoli on electric guitar.
The origins of this musical outfit somewhat spontaneously formed on the island of St. John, USVI, while the friends and musical colleagues were on a rum-induced tropical hang and decided to groove the house at a local bayside bar. They've gone back for two years running now. When you groove like them, your work is never really done.
When not blowing off some sweltering steam with The Deep Dig, these guys keep themselves pretty busy: Levier is a session player, clinician, and internationally touring jazz-funk drummer with KJ Denhert & The NY Unit and others; Moore is an acclaimed singer-songwriter, award-winning filmmaker and composer; Skalka is a session player and hi-tech entrepreneur; and Tozzoli is an award-winning, Grammy-nominated composer, producer and author. They can be heard - together and apart - in various incarnations, including all over your TV set on shows like "Pawn Stars," "Duck Dynasty" and others.
