Sandy Hook Ride on Washington to Stop in Montclair, NJ

Posted

At 10 AM this Sunday, March 29th, 2015, the Sandy Hook Ride On Washington (SHROW) will be making a “rolling rally” pit-stop at the Montclair Bikery to rest, make a call-to-action, and inspire New Jersey to continue acting for common sense firearm reform.

The 26 riders will be welcomed with a reception of coffee and bagels, then Montclair Bikery cyclists will “ride on” with Team 26 to Morristown for a larger rally. While the cyclists are set to arrive at 10 AM, they will be traveling from Harlem that morning, and traffic and weather conditions can affect start time.

SHROW rides to raise awareness and to honor the 26 children and educators killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. This is the third time these cyclists will make the 400 mile trek from Newtown to Washington D.C.

Monte Frank, founder of Team 26, explains why they ride: “We ride to honor all victims of gun violence, to build bridges, and unite Americans in this movement to reduce the risk of gun violence while doing nothing to negatively impact hunters or sportsmen or to erode the Second Amendment as written and interpreted by the Supreme Court.”
