REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR TRI-STATE REALTOR® CONVENTION
Educational and networking opportunities abound for real estate professionals
EDISON, N.J. – Registration is now open for the largest annual real estate event in the region, the ninth annual Triple Play REALTOR® Convention & Trade Expo, which will take place at the Atlantic City Convention Center December 8-10, 2009. Sponsored by the New Jersey, New York State and Pennsylvania associations of REALTORS®, Triple Play offers real estate professionals premier access to distinguished speakers, educational opportunities, trend analysis and more.
Capitalizing on efforts to “go green” and help attendees save money, the convention is offering registrants an extra $10 incentive to register online, rather than submit printed materials. The prices are discounted to $65 for members and $125 for non-members who register online at www.realtorstripleplay.com by October 15, 2009. For those who register via fax or mail before the October 15 deadline, the fee is $75 for members and $135 for non-members.
Triple Play provides a unique opportunity for real estate professionals, including commercial and residential brokers and salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors, to maximize their business potential through networking and by attending professional development courses and sessions presented by nationally recognized speakers. This year, more than 7,500 people are expected to attend the event. The Trade Expo will consist of nearly 300 booths showcasing the latest real estate technology and products. Exhibitors include a variety of mortgage, home inspection, insurance, financial, environmental, real estate, government agencies, publications, marketing services and technology companies.
A few of the highlights of this year’s event include: · The Grand Assembly keynote address “Are You Relevant?” by Ross Shafer.Ross Shafer, a six-time Emmy Award-winning comedian and writer of 14 human resource training films, is the author of Nobody Moved Your Cheese!, The Customer Shouts Back!, Customer Empathy and Are You Relevant? His presentation will teach practitioners how to become trusted advisors, not just vendors, and how to recession-proof their businesses to assure long-term career success. The Grand Assembly will take place on Wednesday, December 9, at 12:15 p.m.
· “Change We Need,” an industry trends report by Stefan Swanepoel and Lawrence Yun. These leading visionaries are two of the most widely known forecasters in the field. Swanepoel has penned 13 books, whitepapers and reports including the 1998 Amazon.com bestseller, Real Estate Confronts Reality (1997), the sequel Real Estate Confronts the Future (2004) and his latest release, the Swanepoel TRENDS Report. Lawrence Yun, Ph.D., is chief economist and senior vice president of research for the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR). Yun writes regular columns on real estate market trends, creates NAR's forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels.
· Numerous educational sessions. Triple Play offers an education program consisting of more than 85 sessions on a variety of topics such as appraisal, sales and marketing, technology, and brokerage/ management strategies. Among this year’s speakers and sessions are: “New Financing Realities for a New Market” by Chandra Hall; “Understanding Social Media” by Bill Lublin; “Environmental Issues of the 21st Century” by Ron Passaro; and “Negotiate a Short Sale” by John Rothamel, Esq.
· Professional designation and certification programs for those who wish to expand their real estate knowledge while earning the following designations: Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR); Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS); Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB); Certified Residential Specialist (CRS); NAR’s Sustainable Property Designation (GREEN); Resort and Second-home Property Specialist (RSPS); and the new Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certification.
* Continuing education (CE) courses. New York and Pennsylvania licensees may earn real estate CE credit for select convention programs. New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania licensees may earn appraisal CE credits. Licensees who wish to earn credits must register for these sessions in addition to the convention registration. The cost for CE credits is $15 per course/per state until November 20, 2009. Onsite CE registration will be $30 per course/per state.
Online registration is encouraged at www.realtorstripleplay.com. Discounts are offered for registrations completed online and those completed before the October 15, 2009 deadline. Regular fees of $80 (members) and $140 (non-members) will apply thereafter for online submissions, and fees of $90 (members) and $150 (non-members) will apply for fax and mail registrations. The deadline for pre-registration is November 20, 2009. Onsite registration will be available for an additional fee, but attendees are encouraged to pre-register.
