New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced that southbound traffic on the Pulaski Skyway is expected to be shifted onto a portion of the newly completed northbound lanes on or about Monday, April 4.
In order to establish the crossover, NJDOT’s contractor, CCA Civil Inc., is scheduled to close the Skyway in both directions the weekend of Friday night, April 1 through Sunday, April 3 as the rehabilitation of the historic 84-year-old bridge advances. In conjunction with the crossover, the Raymond Boulevard exit in Newark will be closed for the duration of the project. In the coming weeks, NJDOT will provide more details about the crossover and the full weekend closure necessary to put it in place, as well as information about detours.
NJDOT created a project-specific website - www.pulaskiskyway.com - which contains a wealth of information about the Skyway and the project, and will be updated with relevant new information as work progresses. The Department is carefully coordinating the Pulaski Skyway project with other regional transportation infrastructure projects to minimize traffic congestion.
