Montclair, Roseland and Nutley: Fresh, Fun farmers markets 2013
The weather is getting warmer, and summer is fast approaching in the New Jersey area. Families are getting ready to enjoy some nice dinners outside together while cooking on the grill. On the side of everyone’s plate should be a fruit or vegetable purchased from the local farmer’s market. Jersey Fresh farmer’s markets are located in almost every county throughout the state. Some of the closest ones are in Montclair, Nutley, and Roseland.
Head on over to the Montclair Farmer’s Market located at the corner of Greenwood and Walnut, in the Walnut S. Train Station Lot. They will be open from June 1-Nov. 16, 2013 on Saturdays from 8am-2pm. Maybe pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables for the family to enjoy, or baked goods for a well-deserved dessert. Your next stop is the Nutley Farmer’s Market located at Franklin Ave and William Street at the Municipal Parking Lot Number 1. They will be open from June 16-Oct. 27, 2013 on Sundays from 9am-2pm. Here you can buy some pickles and olives to enjoy for a nice salad! Pick out some fresh cut flowers to bring some color to your garden. Enjoy some fresh squeezed lemonade for those hot summer days. The last stop is the Roseland Farmer’s Market located at the corner of Roseland and Harrison Avenue at the Borough of Roseland. They will be open from June 15-Nov. 16, 2013 on Fridays from 12pm-7pm or dusk. Pick up some Italian biscotti’s to have after making homemade tomato sauce.
