James Caldwell High School Teams Fight Cancer through Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Event

Posted

This month, the boys and girls basketball teams from James Caldwell High School (JCHS), West Caldwell, will play to benefit the American Cancer Society as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer program. Organized by the American Cancer Society, the program provides a fun and easy way for high school students from all areas of athletics to help raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. This year, the teams will raise funds for pancreatic cancer research in memory of JCHS Coach and teacher Jeff Edward's sister.

The boys junior varsity team and varsity teams will play on Thursday, February 4, at 4:30pm and 6:00pm respectively. The girls freshmen, junior varsity and varsity teams will play on Tuesday, February 9, at 4:00pm, 5:30pm, and 7:00pm respectively. The event will include halftime games, snacks and sales.

In addition to the games, the teams work with coaches Mike Mancino and Ryu Saito, as well as with the Hoopsters and Shooters Booster Clubs, to hold a variety of fundraisers at the school to advertise the events and raise funds.
