There are some wonderful events planned for today and tonight, July 4, 2014.
But what happens if it rains?
In Montclair, the annual July 4th parade is happening rain or shine.
And, the picnic following the parade has been moved to EDGEMONT PARKING LOT not the park.
But, in case of inclement weather, the annual picnic and fireworks would be cancelled. Updates to follow if rain occurs.
In Nutley, there is a new Carnival followed by fireworks planned tonight. If it rains, the township plans to hold these festivities Saturday so stay tuned for updates.
West Essex hosts a lovely fireworks display every year, but in case of rain, there is no rain date planned so check back later today.
Due to the storm, downed wires have caused the closure of Passaic Ave from Harrison to Knoll in West Caldwell.

Caldwells - West Essex
Fantastic fireworks on the grounds of the James Caldwell High school football/athletic field. No word yet if they are cancelled due to rain. They usually call this event at the last minute so will update accordingly.
Ice Cream Social at Grover Cleveland Birth House: This is a fun, old-fashioned free event, with ice cream, free burgers etc. and plenty of old fashioned games for the kids, plus some great historical touches. Due to the weather, it may be cancelled: no official word yet though this organization does not use the internet often so it may not be found here online.
Livingston Fireworks, Car Show & Carnival:
