Living with breast cancer isn't just about battling the disease. It's also about living with integrity and feeling good about yourself. Wigs are a great way for many women to feel more comfortable as they go through treatments for breast cancer.

Britnee N. Timberlake, President of the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, is hosting the “Covered With Compassion” Wig Giveaway Event in collaboration with the Guyana American Heritage Foundation and in partnership with East Orange General Hospital.

President Timberlake shared her purpose for creating this event, stating, “Recently, a very special woman in my life told me the feeling of seeing her hair on her pillow after chemo was indescribably terrible, amidst all the other struggles being sick consists of. This initiative is a way for us to provide love, support, and hopefully the gift of restored confidence and reassurance of inner and outer beauty.” President Timberlake spearheaded this event to service women with health-related hair loss and uplift their spirits through beauty makeovers and cancer awareness during Women’s History Month.

The women of the Essex County Freeholder Board, Freeholder At-Large Lebby C. Jones of Irvington, Freeholder At-Large Patricia Sebold of Livingston, and District 5 Freeholder Cynthia D. Toro of Bloomfield, will attend the event in support of this initiative.
