Bomb Threat Directed at Nutley High School

The Nutley Police Department have reported a bomb threat

aimed at the high school.

Police Director Alphonse Petracco, and Chief Thomas Strumolo advise that Police received information that there was a bomb threat directed towards Nutley High School.

A swift investigation took place identifying a student, who reportedly claimed the posting was a hoax.

School Administrators, Nutley Police, Essex Prosecutors and Essex Sheriff’s Departments worked together to ensure that there was no threat to anyone or the school at any time. Police searched the entire school with K-9 and Bomb Techs and deemed the building safe. Director Petracco said any threat is taken very seriously, and anyone making such claims faces prosecution.

Chief Strumolo said Police acted immediately and identified the suspect. His home was also searched and police found nothing to believe this threat was credible.
