Montclair to Hold Cancer Clinic for Essex Uninsured Women

The Montclair Department of Health & Human Services will host a cancer screening/health clinic for Essex County women who do not have health insurance. The clinic will be held Thursday, September 26, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Health Department offices located on the third floor of the Montclair Municipal Building, 205 Claremont Avenue.

The following will be offered:

Pelvic Examination & PAP Smear Testing for early detection of cervical cancer ( age 21 and older)

Clinical Breast Examination ( age 21-45 )

Mammogram Referral ( age 45 and over if eligible)

Colorectal Test kit ( if eligible)

Cancer Education

Program eligibility criteria:

Must be 21 or older

Essex County resident

No health insurance

Limited Income ( 2018 Federal Poverty guidelines)

These services are FREE to eligible women.

The Women’s Cancer Screening Clinic is provided in collaboration with the Rutgers University S.A.V.E. program – Screening Access of Value to Essex Women and Men, a lead agency of NJ Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED). The program brings education and screening to Essex County residents who do not have medical insurance.
