9th Street Building Collapse Displaces neighbors

Building Collapse in Park Slope Displaces Residents Next Door

Posted

A Park Slope building had to be evacuated last night due to dangerous conditions. The loud crash of the roof collapsing startled neighbors, as it took down part of the 3-story building.

Residents in neighboring buildings heard a loud boom as parts of the building, already slated for demolishment, came down, creating dangerous conditions.

Fire fighters on the scene evacuated the local residents. Luckily, no one was injured.

The neighboring residents on 9th Street were evacuated, and fire fighters must determine if - and when - it is safe for them to return home. The building has been empty and slated for demolition since January.
